Mara Jade is a Star Wars character created by author Timothy Zahn
in a Star Wars novel book called Heir to the Empire. During the time
of the classic Star Wars trilogy at the time of Star Wars Episode 6
Return of the Jedi, Mara Jade works for the Empire as the Emperor's
Hand. Basically, Mara Jade travels around the Star Wars galaxy
eliminating personal threats to Emperor Dantius Palpatine's hegemony.
However, after the demise of Darth Sidious, there is no longer an
Empire for Mara Jade to serve. Several years after Return of the Jedi,
Mara Jade and Luke Skywalker meet and eventually fall in love and get
married. By the time of Star Wars 7, Mara Jade has several children
with Luke Skywalker. The most notable of these offspring is Ben
Skywalker.
At the time of Star Wars Episode 7, Mara Jade is a member of the new
Jedi Order and Mara Jade is an important Jedi Master with a Jedi padawan
learner, who turns out to be one of the most significant Jedi apprentices
in the history of the Star Wars galaxy. Will Mara Jade end up creating the
next Darth Vader similar to the fate experienced by Obi-Wan Kenobi at the
conclusion of Star Wars Episode 3 Revenge of the Sith?
